OFW THE MOVIE is a portrayal of different stories of Filipino overseas workers and thier families they leave behind!

ACTIVE MEDIA EVENTS PRODUCTION, in partnership with OVERSEAS WORKERS WELFARE ADMINISTRATION (OWWA), is proud to present OFW:The Movie, an advocacy film inspired by true events directed by none other than NEAL "Buboy" TAN..
Overseas Filipio Workers are deemed heroes because of thier contributions to both thier families and the economy. They are highly commended for what they do and put on a pedestal by some, which is why so many desire to become OFWs. There is, however, more to being an OFW that people do nat know about and that is exactly what we aim to shed some light on this movie.
We have many misconception about working abroad due to some troubled OFW's who got killed, abused, imprisoned and the death penalty cases the made headlines. Rarely do we hear tales about Filipinos working abroad who found real happiness and prosperity from trying thier luck on lands that are alien to them. We aim to put these false notions to rest and paint you a realistic picture of what it's like working in another land winning and victorious.

BASED ON TRUE STORIES:

These Five Filipino overseas contract workers tell a plot contrary to what is percieved as ordinary and looked on the sunny side of life and work abroad in rose-colored glasses. While most films about OFW's talk about misfortunes of our coutrymen, this film shall depict the numerous OFW stories that in positivity and incontrovertibility. OFW THE MOVIE is a portrayal of different stories of Filipino overseas workers and thier families they leave behind, as they seek greener pastures and better opportunities in foriegn lands- which, despite the hardships, the resiliency of the  Filipino spirit and the virtue of self sacrifice to provide a better future for thier loved oned shines through.
